Testing & Inspection

Inspection and testing of your electrical installation, is not only essential for the smooth running of your building, but is a legal requirement.

As an experienced  NICEIC approved contractor, SEM Electrical provides customers with the high levels of inspection and reporting demanded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). By law you must take reasonable precautions against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity in work activities. Electricity at Work Regulations (1989)

Fixed Installation Testing
Faulty electrical installations present a risk of death. SEM Electrical inspections are to reassure you that you have:

• Adequate earthing and bonding
• Suitable switchgear and control gear
• Appropriate wiring systems
• Residual current devices for electrical equipment used outdoors
• All necessary notices and identification
• A clear understanding of any implications around change of use

Periodic Inspection and Test Reports
SEM Electrical work when it suits you, offering out-of-hours surveys and testing where appropriate. After your inspection has been carried out, you will receive a full report from SEM Electrical, identifying any deficiencies and safety issues:

• General condition of the installation
• Results of all the electrical tests conducted,
• Any lack of earthing or bonding
• Identify overloaded circuits or equipment
• Fire and shock hazards
• Defective electrical work
